Overview

Pretend Group LLC ("Pretend," "we," "us," "our," or "Company") operates www.gopretend.com and related websites and applications (collectively, the "Services"). This Payment Terms and Billing Policy ("Billing Policy") governs how we charge for access to the Services, how we process payments, and what happens if there are billing disputes.

This Billing Policy should be read together with our [Terms and Conditions](https://gopretend.com/terms) and [Privacy Policy](https://gopretend.com/privacy), which contain important legal terms governing the Services. By subscribing to or purchasing credits from Pretend, you agree to all terms in this Billing Policy.

1. Subscription Plans and Pricing

Pretend offers six pricing options to suit different creative needs:

1.1 À la carte Plan

Description: Buy individual credits as you go—no subscription required. 

·   Cost: $10 USD per credit

·   Billing: Pay-per-use; you are charged only when you purchase credits

·   Credits: Each credit can be used for one creative project request (design, video edit, social post, motion design, etc.)

·   Renewal: Credits do not expire, and do not renew automatically; you purchase them manually as needed

·   Features: Basic access to design, video editing, and social media services

1.2 Starter Plan

Description: Monthly subscription for small creative teams and individual users.

·   Monthly Cost: $99 USD per month

·   Credits per Month: 10 credits

·   Cost per Credit: $9.90

·   Renewal: Monthly; automatically renews on the same date each calendar month unless cancelled

·   Features: Full access to all core services (graphic design, video editing, social media posts, motion design)

1.3 Builder Plan

Description: Monthly subscription for growing teams with moderate creative workload.

·   Monthly Cost: $389 USD per month

·   Credits per Month: 40 credits

·   Cost per Credit: $9.73

·   Renewal: Monthly; automatically renews on the same date each calendar month unless cancelled

·   Features: All Starter features plus priority queue

1.4 Plus Plan

Description: Monthly subscription for active teams with high-volume creative needs.

·   Monthly Cost: $699 USD per month

·   Credits per Month: 80 credits

·   Cost per Credit: $8.74

·   Renewal: Monthly; automatically renews on the same date each calendar month unless cancelled

1.5 Pro Plan

Description: Monthly subscription for professional teams with extensive creative requirements. (Most Popular)

·   Monthly Cost: $1,599 USD per month

·   Credits per Month: 200 credits

·   Cost per Credit: $8.00

·   Renewal: Monthly; automatically renews on the same date each calendar month unless cancelled

1.6 Max Plan

Description: Monthly subscription for enterprises and high-volume creative departments.

·   Monthly Cost: $3,799 USD per month

·   Credits per Month: 500 credits

·   Cost per Credit: $7.60

·   Renewal: Monthly; automatically renews on the same date each calendar month unless cancelled

2. Payment Methods and Processing

2.1 Accepted Payment Methods

Pretend accepts the following payment methods:

·   Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)

·   Debit cards (Visa, Mastercard)

All payments are securely processed through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified, meaning your payment information is handled with the highest security standards.

2.2 Stripe Payment Processing

By providing your payment information, you authorize Pretend and Stripe to:

·   Charge your payment method for your subscription or credit purchases

·   Store your payment method securely for future transactions (if you choose)

·   Attempt to charge your payment method if your initial payment fails

·   Refund charges to your original payment method (see Section 5: Refunds)

Stripe's privacy policy governs how your payment data is used: https://stripe.com/privacy

Stripe does not store full credit card details on Pretend's servers. All card data is encrypted and tokenized by Stripe's secure infrastructure.

2.3 Billing Frequency

À la carte Plan:

·   Charged immediately upon purchase of each credit batch

·   No recurring charges

Subscription Plans (Starter, Builder, Plus, Pro, Max):

·   Charged on the same date each calendar month (your "Billing Date")

·   If your subscription begins on the 31st of a month, your next billing date will be the last day of the following month

·   If payment fails on your billing date, we will attempt to charge again within 3 business days

2.4 Currency

All charges are in USD (United States Dollars).

If you are located outside the United States, your payment method's issuing bank may apply foreign transaction fees or currency conversion charges. These fees are not set by Pretend and are the responsibility of your financial institution.

2.5 Billing Address and Payment Information

You are responsible for providing accurate billing information, including:

·   Full name

·   Billing address

·   Payment method details (card number, expiration date, CVV)

If your billing information changes, you must update it in your account settings. Pretend is not responsible for failed payments due to incorrect or outdated billing information.

3. Plan Upgrades, Downgrades, and Changes

3.1 Upgrading Your Plan

You may upgrade from a lower-tier subscription to a higher-tier subscription at any time.

·   Prorated Credits: When you upgrade mid-month, we will credit the unused portion of your current plan and charge the difference for the upgrade on a prorated basis.

·   Example: If you are on the Starter plan ($99/month = 10 credits) and upgrade to the Plus plan ($699/month = 80 credits) on day 15 of your billing cycle, you will be charged the difference prorated for the remaining 16 days, plus your new Plus plan price beginning on your next full billing cycle.

3.2 Downgrading Your Plan

You may downgrade from a higher-tier subscription to a lower-tier subscription.

·   Prorated Refunds: When you downgrade mid-month, we will calculate the difference and issue a credit to your account or refund to your payment method.

·   Remaining Credits: Any unused credits from your previous plan will be forfeited upon downgrade. Download or use your remaining credits before downgrading.

·   Example: If you downgrade from the Pro plan ($1,599/month) to the Builder plan ($389/month) on day 10 of your billing cycle, you will receive a prorated refund or credit for the remaining 21 days of your Pro plan subscription.

3.3 Plan Changes Are Effective Immediately

All upgrades and downgrades take effect immediately. New billing rates apply starting from the change date.

4. Overage Charges and Additional Credits

4.1 Using Credits

Each credit is consumed when you submit a creative project request (design, video edit, social post, etc.) that is accepted into the queue. Once a credit is consumed, it cannot be returned.

4.2 Running Out of Credits

If you run out of credits during your billing cycle:

For Subscription Plans (Starter, Builder, Plus, Pro, Max):

·   Your subscription continues, and credits are automatically renewed on your next billing date

·   You may purchase additional credits on-demand at the pay-per-use rate ($10 USD per credit) to continue working before your renewal date

For À la carte Plan:

·   You must purchase additional credits to continue; there are no automatic renewals

·   Credits are charged immediately at $10 USD per credit

4.3 No Automatic Overage Charges

Pretend does NOT automatically charge overage fees. You must explicitly authorize any additional credit purchases beyond your subscription. Overage charges (à la carte credit purchases) will be charged separately from your subscription and may appear as additional line items on your invoice.

5. Refunds and Money-Back Guarantee

5.1 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee for First Subscription

New customers who subscribe to any Starter, Builder, Plus, Pro, or Max plan for the first time are eligible for a full refund within 30 days of their initial charge, no questions asked.

To request a refund:

1. Contact us at admin@gopretend.com with your account email and request

2. Provide a brief reason

3. We will process your refund within 5 business days

Important: This guarantee applies only to your first subscription. Refunds will be issued to your original payment method.

5.2 Refunds After 30 Days

After the initial 30-day period, the following refund policy applies:

For Subscription Plans:

·   If you cancel your subscription within your current billing cycle, you will not receive a refund for that month's charges

·   Your access will end on the last day of your current billing cycle

·   Any unused credits will be forfeited

For À la carte Credits:

·   À la carte credits are non-refundable once purchased

·   Purchased credits can be used at any time, but expire 12 months after purchase date

5.3 Refund Method

Refunds (except for à la carte credits) are issued to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. Your financial institution may take an additional 2–5 business days to post the refund to your account.

5.4 No Refunds for Subscriptions Purchased with Discount Codes or Promotions

Any subscription purchased at a discounted rate with a promotional code cannot be refunded at the full price; refunds are calculated at the discounted rate at which the subscription was purchased.

6. Cancellations and Termination

6.1 How to Cancel Your Subscription

You may cancel your subscription at any time using one of the following methods:

Self-Service (Recommended):

·   Log into your Pretend account

·   Navigate to Settings → Billing → Subscription

·   Click "Cancel Subscription"

·   Confirm cancellation

·   Send a cancellation request to admin@gopretend.com with your account email and request to cancel

·   Please allow 1–2 business days for processing

6.2 Effective Date of Cancellation

·   Cancellation is effective at the end of your current billing cycle

·   Your access to Pretend will remain active through the last day of your paid subscription period

·   After that date, you will lose access to the Services

·   Any unused credits will be forfeited

6.3 No Refunds Upon Cancellation

Canceling your subscription does not entitle you to a refund for your current billing cycle unless you cancel within the first 30 days of your subscription (see Section 5.1).

6.4 Reactivation

If you cancel your subscription and wish to reactivate it later, you may do so at any time by selecting a new plan. Your previous project history and data will be retained for 90 days after cancellation (see Section 11: Data Retention).

7. Free Trials

7.1 Trial Eligibility

Pretend occasionally offers free trial periods for new features or services. Trial eligibility is subject to our discretion and may be based on factors such as:

·   New user status

·   Promotional campaigns

·   Geographic location

·   Referral eligibility

7.2 Trial Terms

·   Duration: Free trials typically last 7–14 days (specific duration will be stated at signup)

·   Credit Limits: Trial accounts may have reduced credit availability or feature access

·   No Payment Required: You will not be charged during the trial period if you use only trial credits

·   Payment Method Required: You must provide a valid payment method to start a trial, even though you will not be charged immediately

7.3 Trial-to-Paid Conversion

At the end of your trial period:

·   If you do not cancel before the trial expires, your account will be automatically converted to a paid subscription on your selected plan

·   Your first payment will be charged on the conversion date

·   You will receive an email reminder 3 days before your trial expires

To cancel before conversion, use the cancellation methods in Section 6.1.

7.4 Trial Credits Do Not Roll Over

Unused trial credits expire at the end of your trial period and do not convert to paid credits.

8. Project-Specific Billing Terms

8.1 Project Pricing Model

All projects are priced per project request, regardless of project complexity, turnaround time, or deliverable type.

8.2 Project Revision Limits

Included Revisions:

·   Starter, Builder plans: Up to 2 revision rounds included per project

·   Plus plan: Up to 3 revision rounds included per project

·   Pro plan: Up to 4 revision rounds included per project

·   Max plan: Unlimited revision rounds

Additional Revisions:

·   Revisions beyond the included limit are billed as additional credits at a rate of $10 USD per revision (for all plans)

·   Major revisions that are substantially different from the original deliverable may be treated as new projects requiring a new credit

8.3 Expedited Project Fees

Expedited delivery (24–48 hour turnaround instead of standard 5-7 business days) is available for an additional fee:

·   24-hour turnaround: 2 credit charge

·   48-hour turnaround: 1 credit charge

Expedited fees are charged in addition to standard project credits.

8.4 Project Specifications and Scope

Projects must include clear specifications, including:

·   Deliverable type (design, video, social post, etc.)

·   Brand guidelines or visual references

·   Specific requirements or copy

·   Any technical specifications (dimensions, format, etc.)

Vague or incomplete project specifications may result in revision rounds and additional credits.

9. Failed Payments and Account Suspension

9.1 Payment Failures

If your payment method declines or fails:

4. First Attempt: Pretend will attempt to charge your payment method on your scheduled billing date

5. Retry: If the charge fails, we will automatically retry within 3 business days

6. Email Notification: We will send you an email notification of the failed payment and instructions to update your payment method

7. Grace Period: You have 7 days from the initial failure to update your payment method and resolve the charge

9.2 Account Suspension for Non-Payment

If payment is not resolved within 7 days:

·   Your account will be suspended

·   Your access to the Services will be restricted

·   Remaining credits will be frozen

·   You will be unable to submit new projects

9.3 Reactivation After Suspension

To reactivate a suspended account:

10.  All outstanding charges will be retried

11.  Your account will be reactivated within 1–2 business hours of successful payment

9.4 Termination for Repeated Non-Payment

If your account has been suspended more than twice due to non-payment, Pretend reserves the right to terminate your account and cancel your subscription.

10. Billing Disputes and Chargebacks

10.1 Billing Disputes

If you believe you have been charged in error, please contact us immediately:

In your dispute, include:

·   Your account email

·   Date of the disputed charge

·   Amount of the charge

·   Specific reason for the dispute (duplicate charge, unauthorized charge, plan mismatch, etc.)

We will investigate and respond within 5 business days. If we confirm an error, we will issue a refund or credit to your account.

10.2 Chargebacks and Disputes Through Your Bank

We strongly encourage you to contact Pretend directly before filing a dispute with your bank or payment processor. If you initiate a chargeback or dispute through your financial institution without attempting to resolve it with us first:

·   Pretend will be required to provide evidence of the transaction to your bank

·   Your account may be permanently terminated

·   You may be liable for chargeback fees imposed by Stripe (typically $15 USD)

·   You will lose all access to the Services and any remaining credits

10.3 Dispute Resolution Process

13.  Mediation: If negotiation fails, we may suggest mediation through a neutral third party

14.  Litigation: If mediation fails, disputes will be resolved in arbitration or court, as described in our [Terms and Conditions](https://gopretend.com/terms)

11. Data Retention and Account Closure

11.1 Data Retention During Active Subscription

While your subscription is active, all project data, files, revisions, and account information are retained indefinitely for you to access and manage.

11.2 Data Retention After Cancellation

After you cancel your subscription:

·   Your project history and files are retained for 90 days

·   After 90 days, your project data will be permanently deleted

·   You will receive an email reminder 30 days before deletion with instructions to export or download your projects

11.3 Account Termination by Pretend

Pretend reserves the right to terminate your account if:

·   You violate our [Terms and Conditions](https://gopretend.com/terms) or this Billing Policy

·   You engage in fraudulent activity or attempt to bypass payment systems

·   Your account has been suspended for non-payment for more than 30 days

·   Your account is inactive for more than 12 months

Upon account termination, all project data will be deleted within 30 days.

11.4 Data Export Before Account Closure

Before your account is closed or your data is deleted, you may request to export all of your project files, revisions, and metadata. To request a data export:

12. Special Billing Circumstances

12.1 Student and Educational Discounts

Pretend may offer discounted pricing for accredited students. To qualify:

·   You must provide proof of current enrollment from an accredited educational institution (university, college, design school, etc.)

·   Discount applies to Starter and Builder plans only

·   Your educational discount will be applied as a coupon code at checkout

·   Discounted subscriptions are still subject to all terms in this Billing Policy

12.2 Non-Profit and NGO Discounts

Qualified non-profit organizations may be eligible for a discount on annual subscriptions (paid upfront). To qualify:

·   Your organization must be registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit (in the US) or equivalent

·   You must provide documentation of non-profit status

·   Discount is available on Starter and Plus plans

12.3 Enterprise Plans

Custom pricing and terms are available for large organizations with volume needs. Enterprise plans may include:

·   Custom credit bundles

·   Discounted rates based on annual commitments

·   Dedicated account management

·   Custom integrations

13. Pricing Changes and Policy Updates

13.1 Modifications to This Policy

Pretend may modify this Billing Policy at any time. Modifications become effective upon posting to the Pretend website. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes via email.

13.2 Material Changes Require 30 Days' Notice

For material changes to this policy—changes that restrict your rights, reduce included credits, or increase charges—we will provide at least 30 days' written notice via email. Your continued use of the Services after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

If you do not accept the changes, you may cancel your subscription before the new terms become effective.

13.3 Price Increases

Pretend reserves the right to adjust subscription plan pricing. Current subscribers will not be subject to price increases until their next renewal date (30 days minimum notice will be provided).

New customers will be charged at the current rate.

13.4 Promotional Pricing and Coupons

Promotional pricing and discount codes are valid only for the specified promotional period. Discount codes are non-transferable and may be subject to geographic, user type, or usage restrictions.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

This Billing Policy is governed by the laws of the State of California and is subject to our [Terms and Conditions](https://gopretend.com/terms).

Any billing disputes will first be resolved through good faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes will be resolved through mediation or arbitration, as described in our Terms and Conditions.
